Letter from 2019-2020 SALL President Michael Noto

November 7, 2019

Dear Families of Stamford American Little League:

I am honored to once again serve the league as President for 2019-2020. We accomplished so much over the past year with the help of our dedicated SALL Board of Directors and our volunteers. We have many new initiatives underway for this year, including some major field improvements to enhance the experience and safety of our players. We're also streamlining our processes, from registering/paying for programs and events and beyond, to make everything easier for our families. This league of ours does not exist without the countless hours of all of our dedicated volunteers, from our BOD to our families!

It is with this in mind that I, and the entire BOD, are appealing for your help. We especially need help from our newer families in the league. Winter Clinics are right around the corner, and before you know it, we will be having try-outs for AAA and Majors. We desperately need help with our younger divisions. So please, whatever time you can spare, the success of our league depends on our volunteers. From T-Ball through majors, the opening day ceremony, the regular season, travel ball and All-Stars, Summer Ball and Fall Ball, The End of Season AAA/Majors Award Ceremony, fundraisers and field maintenance. Please get involved.

I would like to once again congratulate our recent graduates on winning the LaMotta Tournament, and wish them much success in the future. I and the entire BOD would also like to recognize longtime Coach/Manager and former BOD member Michael Deenihan, 1 of only 2 coaches in all of Stamford who will receive the Mickey Lione Jr. Fund's 2019 Wellington Mara Coaches Award. The Wellington Mara Coaches Award recognizes exemplary individuals amongst all of those who have volunteered time and talent to provide opportunities for youngsters in any city-sanctioned, nonprofit sports league in Stamford. The award includes a $2,000.00 contribution to the nonprofit organization for which the individual volunteers. Thank you for your years of work for SALL, Mike!

As I mentioned, we have many projects and improvements to our facilities that we are in the process of organizing and implementing. I am looking forward to another successful season for Stamford American Little League. With your help, the sky is the limit for our league!

We will be updating our currently available opportunities on the website shortly. In the meantime, if there is a way you would like to get involved, please email us at [email protected].
